The Benefits of Organic Foods and Free-Range Meats

Updated: Aug 13, 2018

Organic Market Fruits and Vegetables

At La Misión Fitness & Yoga we offer an all organic market to our community every Wednesday. We bring farm fresh organic produce and free-range meats straight to our clientele from where they are grown in el Valle de Guadalupe. We do this because we want the very best for both our clients and our community as they work towards their wellness goals.

Foods are labeled organic depending on how they are grown and prepared. The criteria for being labeled organic differs from country to country, but in general it means that they are grown without the use of harmful man-made pesticides or petroleum/sewage based fertilizers. This greatly reduces the chance of these foods being exposed to harmful chemicals, and therefore reduces your chance of being exposed to harmful chemicals. Free-range means that the animal could graze naturally outside of a pen, and was not given feeds containing hormones or animal by-products.

There are many benefits of consuming organic foods and free-range meats. It has been shown that foods raised in an organic manner contain higher concentrations of vitamins and minerals, and free-range meats have higher protein densities with lower percentages of collagen and fats. What this means is that with every bite of an organic/free-range meal you receive more of the nutrients your body needs and loves. Subjective studies, and our own opinion at LMF&Y also support that these foods are tastier than their non-organic counterparts.

Raising foods organically also has environmental benefits, which is just another reason why we are proud to support one of the only organic farms in Northern Baja.

Come and try our delicious organic produce at free-range meats for yourself! Natalia’s Organic Market is held at La Misión Fitness & Yoga every Wednesday from 2-5 p.m., and we will continue selling on Thursday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
